Tying in the Colors of Your Wedding Invitations with Your Wedding Colors

When it comes to planning the perfect wedding, there are many things to take into consideration. Not only do you want to select the right venue, food and cake, but you also want to be sure all of the decorations are perfectly coordinated with each other and with the bridal party. From centerpieces to favors, the color, style and design of everything has to be just perfect.

Yet, despite all of the thought that most brides put into the decorations, flowers and dresses that will be used on their special day, many fail to take these colors into consideration when selecting their wedding invitations.

Choosing The Wedding Invitations

The reality is that your wedding invitations go a long way toward establishing the tone, mood and theme for your wedding. Therefore, before you start browsing through the many different wedding invitation designs that are available, you should take the time to decide upon the colors and the theme that you will be using with the actual wedding.

Not only will this help you narrow down your choices so you aren’t searching through thousands of different wedding invitation designs, but it will also help you select the right invitation to set the mood for your special day.

While there is no rule stating that your invitations have to perfectly match the colors that you will be using in your wedding, you should at least take steps to ensure the colors tie into your wedding colors in some way. For example, your invitations may not be the exact same color as your bridesmaid dresses, but they may be the same color as some of the flowers that will be used at your wedding or they may match the centerpieces that you are planning for your reception.

Just keep in mind that, unless you are sending out traditional black and white invitations, your wedding invitation colors should coordinate with the colors your guests will see when they show up for your wedding day.

Since most brides start planning their weddings about one year before the wedding day, you should already have a good idea of the colors that you will be using in your wedding by the time you are ready to order your wedding invitations four months before the big day. Therefore, tying the colors of your wedding invitations in with your wedding colors should not be too difficult of a task. Don’t worry too much if your wedding invitation colors are not of the exact same shade and hue as the colors you will be using with your wedding.

After all, no one is going to bring an invitation to your special day in order to compare the colors on your invitations to the colors of your decorations or dresses! By selecting invitations with colors that match what your guests will see on your wedding day, however, you will give them a sneak peek into what they will see when they arrive for your special day.
